NET is a partner in the 'Respect for Transport' campaign.
Our pledge is to:
- Commit to trial on-tram CCTV in late July 2004, and, subject to a successful trial, to install cameras on every tram by the end of 2005.
- Work with the police to use on-tram stop and Park and Ride CCTV images more effectively to bring criminals to prosecution.
- Continue to ‘design out’ crime along the system by improving infrastructure.
- Remove tram stop and tram graffiti within 24 hours of a report.
- Expand cashless fare options by co-operating in agreements between NCT and NET for new smartcard options to reduce the level of cash paying passengers.
- Develop relationships with other operators, the police and City and County Councils to share information regarding persistent offenders, using new police and council powers to levy penalties
- Work with Notts police to develop police transport strategy and working protocols between the two organisations.
- Allow free travel on NET for police officers, traffic wardens and parking wardens whilst on duty.
