A very popular Wetherspoons pub carefully designed so that discreet side booths supplement the main central drinking area. At one time poet Lord Byron lived at the nearby Newstead Abbey – the pub takes its name from a tree in the Abbey grounds. Byron is buried in Hucknall churchyard just off the marketplace.
