There are plenty of exciting events throughout the year in Nottingham.
Most famous are the annual Goose Fair (first week of October), held at The Forest, dating back to at least 1541 and the Robin Hood Pageant, also in October.
There are a diverse range of festivals, from the Green Festival and One City, One World in May; to the Caribbean Carnival and Riverside Festival in August. Other summer delights include Shakespeare at the Castle, the Big Grin cartoon festival in July and in September, the Big Day Out.
Regular celebrations are not forgotten, with a parade on St Patrick’s Day, Bonfire Night Fireworks, switching on of the Christmas Lights and Divali Gala, Eid Gala and Navrati Festival of Dance in October.
Out of town events in Hucknall, include the Hucknall Carnival in December, when the Christmas Lights are turned on, the annual Beer Festival in February and Sports Festival in June.
