Due to a tightening of certain regulations and laws since the tram first started running, we’re no longer able to accept EasyRider passes on NET. For many, this simply means changing the ticket you buy, but for those who bought longer term EasyRiders we have an early Christmas present for you...
Easy Rider
For those of you who bought a longer term EasyRider (3 months or more) and will have days remaining for travel after 31st January 2012.
We really appreciate your loyalty and we understand that changing regulations are not something you have control over. Additionally we want to reward our customers who commit long term to using public transport. We've therefore joined forces with Nottingham City Council and Nottingham City Transport, and agreed to give you something better - a Kangaroo Card.
Your new Kangaroo card will allow unlimited travel on all buses and trains in the Kangaroo City boundary, as well as every tram in Nottingham. It will last for the same amount of time as your old EasyRider would have done and won't cost you a penny! To make the switch, just pop down to the Nottingham City Council Travel Centre in Broardmarsh Bus Station with your EasyRider (view map) and the team will be happy to put all your remaining days of travel onto a brand new Kangaroo (no animals are harmed in the making of this card).
For those of you who bought your Easyrider before the transfer to Tramlink and you have a month or less remaining on your card...
You'll be able to continue to use NET for any travel remaining on your card up to 31st January 2012, then you'll be able to choose one of our alternative tickets...
So what's the best ticket for me?
Well that depends on how you travel.
If you are only using the tram you can buy your tickets onboard - including day and weekly tickets - from one of our friendly conductors. To get the best savings though you can buy weekly and monthly tickets from PayPoint retailers who are dotted throughout the City and surrounding area (over 300 shops in total).
If you use the tram and bus your best bet is to buy a Kangaroo ticket. These can be bought on any tram or bus and allow travel on all services within the Kangaroo Boundary (view map). For greater savings you can buy monthly, 3 monthly, 6 monthly and yearly passes from the Nottingham City Council Travel Centre in Broardmarsh Bus Station (view map).
Any further queries?
