
RED NOSE DAY 2005



Nottingham Express Transit held a series of events for Red Nose Day 2005.
1.
NET staff dressed up on the day and collected donations on the tram.
2. Arrow are donated the fares
from one tram to comic relief
NTC are gave £5,000.
3. Trams sported red noses.
4. NET ran tours around the Depot
Tram Driving Experience
THE AUCTION HAS NOW FINISHED - WE HAVE RAISED £417.98 !
NET auctionined the chance to DRIVE one of our trams on the main line! The winner got a once in a lifetime experience to drive a tram!
ALL PROCEEDS FROM THE AUCTION WENT TO COMIC RELIEF
The Tram Driving Experience took place on Sunday 13th March, commencing at 07.00am.
The morning included:
A tour of the Nottingham tram depot.
An introduction to
the tram and cab controls.
A number of intial test drives
up and down on a single track in the depot to get used to the
tram.
The
chance to drive through the sand shed and tram wash. - and then....
The
winner first oversaw and then DROVE from Wilkinson
Street to Phoenix Park (approx.
4 miles return
trip).
This was the first (and possibly last) time that a member of the public has been given a chance to drive a tram on the system.
On return to the depot the winner came back into control room and was given a download from their tram showing the speeds that they reached.
