A special tram, wrapped in a bright red Jubilee livery, proved a popular addition to celebrations marking the Queen’s visit to Nottingham.

The eye catching tribute was unveiled at the Royal Centre shortly before Her Majesty’s arrival in the city. It attracted hundreds of admirers, including young children who were treated to a peek inside the cab.

Florian Le Loroux, Marketing Manager at NET, explained: “It was great to see the excitement on their faces as they sat behind the controls. The experience will live with them for a long time as part of a wonderful, memorable day in the city.”

Florian went on to say the tram itself, which entered regular service later in the day, attracted plenty of attention and the reaction to the striking, contemporary design was fantastic.

“As well as queuing up to take photographs, many people came up to us saying they thought it was a very appropriate and colourful way to celebrate the royal visit and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee,” he added.
