The poor summer weather hasn’t prevented families enjoying a day at the seaside in the heart of landlocked Nottingham!
The city centre has been transformed with Old Market Square turned into a beach as part of the E.ON Nottingham Riviera celebrations. What’s more NET has joined forces with sponsors, E.ON, to help people make the most of the holiday fun.
The company is giving away hundreds of special family tram tickets to customers, enabling beachgoers to enjoy the seaside atmosphere without the worry of tackling traffic or finding a parking space.
Florian Le Loroux, Marketing Manager at NET, explained: “The Riviera celebrations have got off to a great start and run through the school holidays, with a packed programme of events and activities.
“To help people get around we recently re-launched our ‘Five for £5’ offer and E.ON will be giving away 500 vouchers people can swop for the popular family ticket.”
The offer enables five people, including up to two adults, a day of unlimited travel on the tram for just £5. Staff from E.ON will be handing out the free vouchers to customers on the beach from this weekend.
Helen Slack, Events Manager at E.ON, said: “It looks like summer’s finally here and we hope the family tram tickets will make a great day out even better.
“Following on from the fantastic E.ON Cycle Live, this is another way we’re rewarding our customers this summer. To find out more about what else we’re doing with communities in Nottingham, we’ll be at the beach with our Open House stand with a children’s activity area and a showcase of energy saving features to help people save energy in their homes.”
As well as the beach, with its own café, bar, music, fairground rides and paddling pool, the summer extravaganza in Nottingham also includes Caribbean and riverside festivals and a host of sports and arts events.
Florian added: “One of our trams has also been wrapped in a special E.ON livery, an-eye catching reminder of the company’s support for a summer of fun in the city.”
