Families looking to enjoy Nottingham’s spectacular Bonfire Night celebrations are being urged to leave their cars at home and travel by tram instead.
At the same time they can take advantage of a great ticket offer as they make their way to the heart of the action at Forest Recreation Ground on November 5.
According to Florian Le Loroux, Marketing Manager at NET, tens of thousands of people are expected to join in the fun and roads around the area will be busy and parking in short supply.
“The annual event, which features a firework display and fairground rides, is extremely popular with local residents and visitors to the city,” he explained.
“This year promises to be no exception but it’s easy to avoid the traffic thanks to the tram network.”
“Our popular ‘Five for £5’ Family Ticket will also be available, enabling up to five people - including two adults - unlimited tram travel for the day.”
Anyone who needs to use their car to get to a tram stop can take advantage of plenty of free spaces at the Phoenix Park, Moor Bridge and Hucknall park and ride sites.
Due to on going depot extension work, a restricted number of spaces will be available at Wilkinson Street whilst the Forest park and ride site is restricted to blue badge holders only between 4.30pm and 10.30pm on bonfire night. Tram customers already parked at Forest will be able to leave during this time.
