Cancelled due to cold weather conditions – Read the Revised Easter Services
Temporary Changes to NET Services in the City Centre – Friday 21st to Monday 24th March
The NET track along Goldsmith Street, between the junction with Talbot Street and the Royal Centre tram stop, is due to close for up to four days while a new crossover is installed. The work will involve removing the existing crossover and installing a new European style track and will involve the closure of the NET stop at the Royal Centre.
Due to this engineering work, during the closure the trams will operate as normal from Hucknall and Phoenix Park towards the city, but will terminate at the The Forest Park & Ride site over the Easter Weekend (Friday 21st March – Monday 24th March).
Replacement bus services between The Forest and Station Street will operate to enable passengers to complete their journey stopping as follows:
- Forest P&R site, Nottingham Boys High School, Maid Marion Way (M2), Station St
- Station St, Beastmarket Hill (B1), Stage Door Pub (Upper Parliament St), Forest P&R
Details as follows:
Friday 21st March – NET Sunday Service terminating at the Forest.
Replacement bus services between Forest and Station Street operating every 7/8 minutes at peak daytimes
Saturday 22nd March – NET Saturday Service terminating at the Forest.
Replacement bus service between Forest and Station Street operating every 5 minutes at peak daytimes
Sunday 23rd March & Monday 24th March – NET Sunday Service terminating at the Forest.
Replacement Bus service between Forest and Station Street operating every 7/8 minutes at peak daytimes
Tuesday 25th March – Normal weekday NET services resume.
The replacement bus services will have less seats and slower journey times than the tram service and passengers are advised to avoid unnecessary journeys into Nottingham City Centre by tram during the Easter break.
NET Director Pat Armstrong said: “We know this work is likely to cause some people inconvenience and we’re sorry for that. We felt it made sense to try and get the job done as quickly as possible at the time when the system is at its quietest.
The new crossover is considered to be the best available engineering solution at this location and the anticipated reduction in noise levels in the Concert Hall and surrounding businesses is significant.”
