The eagerly anticipated reopening of Nottingham Castle is finally happening next Monday - and tram passengers can get discounted travel when they visit the revamped attraction.

The Castle has undergone a £30m transformation over the past three years and despite the delay to the final stage of the Government’s Covid roadmap, will open its gates again to restricted numbers of visitors on June 21st.

New operators Nottingham Castle Trust, a not-for-profit charity, have come on board with NET as an event ticket partner – meaning that customers travelling to the castle can take advantage of an event ticket, which provides a return ticket for just £2.50 (adult single tickets are £2.40, day tickets £4.20).

NET’s Marketing Manager Stephanie Moss-Pearce said: We’re really excited about the reopening of Nottingham Castle and delighted that Nottingham Castle Trust have come on board with us as an event ticket partner.

“This means that people choosing to travel to the Castle by tram can benefit from a significant discount. All they need to do is buy their ticket through the Castle website and make sure they have their Castle and NET event ticket to hand or on their phone when travelling, should they be asked by a travel officer.”

Nottingham Castle Trust’s Director of Commercial & Customer Services, Debbie Beardall said: “Nottingham Castle Trust is committed to lowering its carbon output wherever possible and ensuring its long-term sustainability, so we’re delighted to be partnering with NET to encourage visitors to travel to the Castle by tram for just £2.50.”

The closest tram stop to Nottingham Castle is Old Market Square, around three minutes’ walk, with the Lace Market and Nottingham Station stops around nine and eleven minutes’ walk away.

NET event tickets can be purchased directly through the castle website https://www.nottinghamcastle.org.uk
