Runners will again be strapping up their laces this weekend to support poorly children at Rainbows Hospice.

Chase The Tram will take place on Saturday at 10am and will see participants run alongside the route of the NET tram network from Clifton South into the city centre.

Around 30 runners will take part and NET has sponsored the medals, while allowing runners free tram travel up to Clifton South. The event is raising money for Rainbows Hospice, in Loughborough, which supports local families with terminally-ill children.

Organiser Regina O’Reilly said: “Paul Merry and I are so happy to be able to organise Chase The Tram 2021 again for the second year. Our aim is to raise funds for a local charity every year and to have NET supporting this event again is such a great bonus.

“Donations are needed more than ever to support Rainbows so they can continue their amazing work for children and young adults in the community.”

Stephanie Moss-Pearce, NET Marketing Manager said: “Last year’s event was a huge success and we’re delighted to be involved again. Rainbows does a fantastic job of supporting families going through such a difficult time and we hope to be able to help Regina and Paul to raise a great total for the cause.

“We’d love to see as many people as possible along the route on Saturday. If you are out and about, please give our runners a cheer and donate whatever you can to support the work of Rainbows.”
