A ‘one stop shop’ for information on Nottingham’s tram network has opened in the heart of the city.

The new NET Travel Centre, located at the bottom of Kings Street and close to Old Market Square, opened its doors for the first time this week and looks set to play a key role in promoting tram travel, as well as making life easier for customers.

It was officially opened on Wednesday 10th July by the Lord Mayor, Councillor Merlita Bryan, and now enables customers to find information on services and tram times, buy tickets and find out about the latest offers. Customers can also collect tickets purchased online rather than wait for them to be delivered by post.

Paul Robinson, NET General Manager commented: “The opening of the Travel Centre is an exciting development in our efforts to promote the benefits of the tram to city centre visitors and to make life easier for customers.

“The trams themselves are a familiar sight in Nottingham, providing a quick and reliable way of getting around the city.

“But now people have a central point where they can buy a ticket in advance of travelling, pick up a timetable or chat to a member of the team about the services we currently offer, or the expansion of the network at the end of next year.” he added.

Following the official opening, Joanne Bentley, NET Customer Services Manager, said: “Open 8.30am to 5.30pm, Monday to Saturday, the centre will provide a focal point for customer enquiries and staff will always be on hand to answer their questions.

“It’s conveniently located in the city centre and the team is looking forward to meeting regular users of the tram and anyone who wants to find out more about making the most of our fantastic, and expanding, network.”
