Nottingham’s tram network will resume full service from Monday 3 August as government restrictions around public transport continue to ease.

As more people return to work and start to travel more again, NET will return to its normal timetable, with tram services operating from every seven minutes.

The NET Travel Centre in King Street will also reopen on Monday 3 August, operating normal hours but with social distancing measures in place.

However, season tickets can still be purchased online and delivered to a home address for those customers who would prefer not to travel to the city centre.Similarly refunds can be done over the phone.

Constantina Samara, NET Customer Services Manager, said: “During the COVID 19 pandemic we have continued to offer a vital service to all our key workers and customers that needed to use the network for essential travel.

“As public transport restrictions begin to lift, we are ready to resume our full timetable and look forward to welcoming more people back on the trams.

“Customer and staff safety will continue to be a priority and we will continue to follow government advice at every stage. We would ask customers to continue to adhere to social distancing guidelines and wear face coverings when travelling with us or visiting the travel centre.

“We have also taken extra measures to protect our customers and staff, such as an improved cleaning regime – ensuring that frequently touched surfaces onboard each tram, including handrails, can be disinfected at the end of every trip.

“Drivers will also halt at all stops and automatically open doors so that customers don’t have to touch the stop request bell or door-opening buttons.

“As before, we continue to advise customers to pay for their travel in advance, either online or by using the NETGO app. NETGO! Is still the cheapest way to purchase single, day, group and week tickets, and has the added benefit of being contact-free.”

In addition, a new 6 month season ticket has been introduced alongside the 1, 3 and 12 month passes already available to customers. Prices will be £290 for adults and £200 for students and U19s and can be purchased online or from the travel centre.
