Staff Development Accreditation For Tram Operator

The operator of Nottingham’s tram network has been awarded a prestigious accreditation for its continued development and improvement of staff.
Nottingham Trams Limited (NTL), the company which operates the NET service, has achieved the Investors in People (IIP) accreditation for demonstrating best practice in people management.
The company now joins 14,000 other organisations across the world that are recognised for showing dedication to the development of their workforce, through better business practices and training programmes.
Paul Robinson, NTL’s General Manager, explained: “We’re delighted to have achieved this accolade which is a great reward for the on-going support, development and opportunities for improvement we offer to all of our staff.
“Engaging with and understanding our workforce plays a crucial role in ensuring we continue to provide Nottingham with a world class tram system.”
NTL’s accreditation follows a rigorous assessment at the end of last year which saw the IIP conduct a number of observations and interviews with staff from all levels of the company.
Maria Dobney, NTL’s HR Manager, added: “Helping staff achieve their full potential is integral to how we operate and we are committed to being an organisation that offers opportunities to all team members.
“The accreditation is a great recognition of that ethos, but it doesn’t mean that our work stops here. We’ll be following IIP’s continuous improvement plan to hopefully achieve their next level of accreditation, a silver award, at our next assessment in three years’ time.”
