Travel From Tramline To Tramline For The Aegon Open This Summer
05 June 2017
Tennis fans can claim discount travel on the city’s tramlines to get to the tramlines of the courts at Nottingham Tennis Centre for the upcoming Aegon Open.
The tournament starts on Saturday 10 June and tram customers will be able to get to all the action for just £2 return with NET’s specially priced Event Ticket.
British No 1 and World No 7 Johanna Konta will be taking to the courts alongside other top ranking tennis stars from Britain and across the globe. All the action will take place at the Nottingham Tennis Centre which is just a short stroll from NET’s Nottingham University tram stop.
Tennis fans using the £2 Event Ticket must ensure that they have their match ticket with them and are able to present it, along with their tram ticket, should they be asked by travel officers.
Families heading to the Aegon Open can also save on tram travel by purchasing the network’s £5 Group Ticket, offering unlimited tram travel for two adults and up to three children from 4pm on weekdays and all day at weekends.
Stephanie Moss-Pearce, NET’s Assistant Marketing Manager, said: “With discounted fares and a stop right by the venue, the tram offers the perfect way of travelling to what is one of the top sporting events on the city’s annual calendar.
“Not only can tennis fans save on the cost of their tram ticket, but they can also avoid the hassle and expense of finding a parking space by using one of our 5,000 free spaces located at 7 park & ride sites across Nottingham.”
