NET announces 2026 charity of the year, championing importance of mental health in the workplace.
Nottingham Express Transit (NET) has put mental health awareness in the driving seat after naming Nottinghamshire Mind as its 2026 charity of the year.
Essential track replacement work around Nottingham’s Hyson Green tram stop is set to start later this month.
Between Wednesday, July 27, and Sunday, August 7, trams will be unable to operate between Wilkinson Street and The Forest although a replacement bus service between the two stops will enable customers to complete their journeys
Trevor Stocker, NET Head of Operations, explained: “Some sections of track have been in operation since the network was opened 18 years ago and are now due for replacement. This work is being done as part of our scheduled maintenance programme which aims to ensure customers continue to enjoy a safe and comfortable journey.
“Throughout the project, including during preparatory works from July 17, measures will be put in place to minimise noise and disruption for local residents and businesses.”
“Access for road users and pedestrians along Terrace Street will also be maintained throughout the day, although some road diversions may be put in place on some nights to allow access for delivery vehicles.
While replacement buses will be in operation between Wilkinson Street and The Forest, tram services will run across the rest of the network to an amended timetable.
However, all customers are advised to allow a little extra time for their journey, especially those travelling between the city centre and Hucknall and Phoenix Park.
Customers should also check the NET website (www.thetram.net) and its social media channels for further service updates.
“The work has been scheduled for what is traditionally one of the quietest times of the year for the network, but we would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience and thank both customers and the local community for their patience and understanding,” Trevor added.
