Nottingham’s tram network is introducing a bundle of money-saving offers in January to help customers beat the back-to-work blues.
As part of an annual review of fares, NET’s popular £1 ‘short hop’ tickets will become available across the entire network with the creation of an updated zoning system from Monday, January 6.
Alongside the expansion of short hop ticket coverage, regular customers can also bag a bargain in NET’s January sale by purchasing a cut-price season ticket, saving up to a whopping £50. If purchased in January, an annual pass will cost just £475 for adults, compared to £525 at other times.
Between January 1 and 31, a three-month adult pass is priced at £145 – a saving of £15 – and there’s also £5 off a one-month adult pass, which normally costs £55.
NET Marketing Manager, Rebekah Smith, explained: “For regular customers our season tickets offer the most cost-effective way to travel by tram, and our January deals make them an even more attractive proposition.”
The offers have been introduced as part of a wider annual review which will see modest increases to some cash fares. Adult single tickets purchased on the platform are set to rise from £2.30 to £2.40, and a day ticket sees an increase of 20p to £4.20. There’s also a small rise of 50p to £18.50 for a weekly pass.
Rebekah added: “The tram still offers fantastic value and these slight increases bring us into line with other transport operators in the city.
“By switching to paying for travel using our NETGO! mobile app rather than at the tram stop, customers can still enjoy savings on their ticket, while our new short hop zones offer great value for money for anyone who needs a swift and convenient ride between a couple of stops.”
The season ticket offer is available from January 1 and the other fare changes come into effect on January 6. Full details of the new fares, including information on the short hop zones, can be found here or via the short hop graphic below.
