Tramlink Nottingham

Over a decade of private investment to keep the tram on track.

Tramlink has been the private investment partner in the Nottingham Tram since 2011, helping to build, maintain and operate this most vital piece of the city's infrastructure.

In keeping the tram on track for the last decade, Tramlink has brought not only investment but also private sector expertise to the table. Backed by leading global investors Meridiam, and major UK transportation companies like Alstom and Keolis, the Tramlink consortium brings a wealth of experience and best practice from a range of global infrastructure and transport projects.

More than just a transport network

The tram plays a crucial role in keeping Nottingham residents and businesses moving, but it also offers more than just a transport network. Through continued investment and a wide range of partnerships and initiatives, Tramlink is harnessing the power of the tram as an "enabler" for Nottingham's future growth, prosperity and green ambitions.

A driver of green growth

The tram offers green transport for millions of passengers every year, and we are proud to be a key part of the city's ambition to become the first carbon-neutral city in the UK by 2028. As well as being powered by 100% green, renewable energy, we are also working with businesses and partners across the city to help with their sustainable travel plans.

Bringing local people together

As a local infrastructure asset, business and employer, we are committed to playing our role in the communities we serve — from providing jobs, skills and training opportunities to supporting local schools, charities and good causes.

Supporting businesses and the local economy

The tram is vital in supporting mobility and stimulating business across Nottingham as one of the UK's fastest-growing economies, a major tourist destination, and one of the UK's leading student hubs.

We are building this further through a range of initiatives to support the local economy. Our Workbytram scheme helps local employers secure the best value in tram travel. We have partnered with sectors including hospitality, retail and the emergency services to offer discounted travel, and we regularly sponsor employment events to help residents back into work.

Read our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) plan for further details on how we are supporting Nottingham's green growth ambitions and how the tram will continue making a difference to our customers, local communities, businesses and the environment.
