Tram fare dodgers to experience higher penalty fares from 1 May.
From 1 May 2026, tram fare dodgers run the risk of facing serious financial consequences as Nottingham Express Transit (NET) updates its Penalty Fare Policy.
The first half-term holiday of 2020 is almost here, and families can enjoy cut-price travel on Nottingham’s tram network during the winter break.
The popular Group Ticket offer has been extended, and the off-peak price – usually only available at weekends and after 4pm - will be available all day at the discounted price of £6.
Additional savings are on offer for those buying their ticket through the NETGO! app, where the Group Ticket is available for just £5.50!
Rebekah Smith, NET Marketing Manager, explained: “The Group Ticket is always a popular offer during school holidays, as it enables families to enjoy all the activities on offer in the city while saving on their travel.
“Using NETGO! makes taking advantage of this offer even easier, and by using one of NET’s seven free park and ride sites, people can save on the cost and hassle of finding a parking space too.”
Next week the off-peak Group Ticket will be available from Monday, February 17 to Friday, February 21, and enables two adults and up to three children unlimited travel for the day for just £6.
As with all fares paid for through the app or at the tram stop, the Group Ticket must be purchased before boarding the tram.

Nottingham Express Transit (NET) is inviting locals to nominate the unsung heroes who are making a difference in the city, for the chance of having a tram named in their honour.
