Tram fare dodgers to experience higher penalty fares from 1 May.
From 1 May 2026, tram fare dodgers run the risk of facing serious financial consequences as Nottingham Express Transit (NET) updates its Penalty Fare Policy.
NET has teamed up with community bus firm, CT4N, to provide a swift and convenient link between the tram network - picking up at the S4 bus stop outside the railway station - and Trent Bridge, a short walk from the City Ground.
The service is free for anyone with a valid tram ticket or concession pass and operates every ten minutes for two hours before kick-off and an hour after the final whistle. Stephanie Moss-Pearce, NET Marketing Manager, explained:
“The Event Link bus will run whenever Forest play at home and in previous seasons it’s proved hugely popular, helped thousands of fans enjoy a hassle-free journey to the game.
“By taking the tram and bus, they don’t have to worry about getting caught in traffic or finding a parking space.”
The first match of the season kicks off at 5.30pm on Saturday, August 3, and thanks to NET and CT4N supporters needn’t miss any of the action.
Ian Combellack, CT4N Managing Director, added:
“We are thrilled to be working with NET to provide this handy link between the tramway at Nottingham Station and Trent Bridge. Our fully accessible vehicles and friendly drivers are looking forward to welcoming NET customers going to Nottingham Forest home fixtures.”
For the new season NET has also brought back its popular £2.50 Event Ticket. Available to match and season ticket holders from tram stop ticket machines, it offers excellent value for anyone travelling to the game.
Customers coming from outside the city by car can save even more money by using the tram network’s park and ride facilities before hopping on board.
