Vicky McClure dedicates named tram to Our Dementia Choir.
Nottingham-born BAFTA award-winning actress Vicky McClure, has honoured Our Dementia Choir by dedicating her named Nottingham Express Transit(NET) tram to the cause.
Today was a very exciting day for Nottingham, with a special visitor spotted in the city. After attending the ‘Big Reveal’ of the brand-new Nottingham version of the popular board game, Mr Monopoly stepped off the red carpet from the grand launch event and onto the streets to explore the city in real life.
Nottingham Express Transit (NET) secured a prominent place on the new Monopoly board, featuring on two of the four train station spots. On the day, Mr Monopoly tried out the popular mode of transport, boarding at the Royal Centre tram stop and riding down to the Old Market Square, surprising shoppers on the way. With NET’s Customer Experience agents always on hand to support even VIP tram users, when the special guest delved into his deep pockets and attempted to purchase a ticket using Monopoly money, he was assisted in using real money to make the ticket valid for travel.
Whilst on the tram, Mr Monopoly experienced the sights of Nottingham as it made its way through the city. Offering a helping hand, he joined the customer experience agents in checking the tickets of other tram users and said hello to the people of Nottingham.
Alison Sweeney, head of marketing at NET said: “This is such an exciting day for the city, and we’re so pleased that Mr Monopoly was able to take time out of his busy schedule to explore all that Nottingham has to offer, using the tram.
“As a network that has been an integral part of the city for more than 20 years, we’re pleased to be part of this board which is more than just a game, and is a celebration of everything that makes Nottingham a fantastic place to live.”
