NET announces 2026 charity of the year, championing importance of mental health in the workplace.
Nottingham Express Transit (NET) has put mental health awareness in the driving seat after naming Nottinghamshire Mind as its 2026 charity of the year.
From 1 May 2026, tram fare dodgers run the risk of facing serious financial consequences as Nottingham Express Transit (NET) updates its Penalty Fare Policy.
The cost of a Penalty Fare Notice (PFN) will increase from £70 to £120, although a new early payment discount will now be available for first time offenders, reducing to £60 if paid within 14 days. If a PFN is left unpaid, alongside a further fine of £1,000, the recipient may also be liable for prosecution which could result in a criminal record which would remain on a person’s record for up to 11 years.
The update comes after more than 10,000 people were caught travelling without a valid ticket in 2025 and will reinforce the network’s zero tolerance policy towards fare evasion, with a ‘no excuses’ PFN to be issued to anyone caught travelling without a valid ticket or pass.”
