Full Timetable To Resume From Monday
Nottingham’s tram network will see a return to a full weekday timetable from Monday (January 24), with trams from every three minutes in the city centre at peak times.
Since Christmas, a Sunday...
Nottingham Express Transit (NET) has revealed that essential tram maintenance work will be taking place along the Clifton route between Queens Walk and Clifton South Park & Ride over the weekend of 24 and 25 January. Normal tram service is expected to resume on Monday 26 January.
Following historic damage caused by severe flooding, NET will be replacing the track ballast at Wilford Lane, as well as conducting maintenance work along the Clifton line. During this time, all tram stops between Queens Walk and Clifton South Park & Ride will be closed.
To minimise disruption, a temporary bus replacement service will operate between Queens Walk and Clifton South Park & Ride. Due to the road closure required at Wilford Lane, a diversion will also be in place for vehicles. Pedestrians will also be provided with an accessible route around the worksite, details of which can be found on NET’s website. Customers are being encouraged to allow extra time and check affected routes before travelling.
Sarah Turner, managing director at NET, said:“Following unavoidable instances of severe flooding, this maintenance work is necessary to ensure a safe and reliable service for our customers, whilst also improving the resilience of the network. With a replacement bus service in operation, we’re hoping to reduce the impact on customers whilst this work takes place.
“We encourage customers who regularly rely on travelling along the affected route to visit our website where they can view our dedicated maintenance page for more information, or contact us through our live chat function on our website if they have any questions. We’d like to thank our customers for their patience and co-operation during this time.”
Further information about services affected by the upcoming track works, as well as information about the replacement bus service route, can be found online at www.thetram.net/planned-maintenance.
