Prices for some trips on Nottingham’s tram network are set to change slightly from Monday (October 1) for users of the MANGO smart card.
The daily cap on fares will be cut by 10p from £3.80 to £3.70, and students will see even bigger savings with a reduction of 90p to £2.90. For all under-19s, the cap will be set at £2.20, meaning a daily cap drop of £1.60 for holders of the 16-19 card.
‘Short Hop’ journeys will continue to cost just £1 for both adults and students, although a MANGO Single fare will rise from £1.80 to £2 for adults, £1 to £1.50 for students and from 95p to £1 for under-19s.
There are also adjustments to the weekly and monthly caps for all MANGO holders, and details can be found here.
Stephanie Moss-Pearce, NET Marketing Manager, commented: “These adjustments to pay-as-you-go fares are aimed at bringing them more into line with our fare structure moving forward. The changes will place the day caps and single journeys alongside the other travel options available.”
“Since their introduction we’ve seen increasing numbers of customers preferring to use pre-pay options such as MANGO and the Robin Hood Card.”
“As well as saving them money, smart card technology makes it quicker to board the tram as there’s no need to find cash to pay for a ticket from a machine.”
